We would initially prioritise cleaning the 2017 planted Douglas fir crop in the centre of the property by removing the vigorous silver birch natural regeneration growing amongst the conifers. Consideration could also be given to the early felling of the larch, followed by restocking using more productive conifer species as was undertaken in 2017.
