Tustins COVID 19 Marketing Update 15 May 2020

Tustins welcomes the news that the combined efforts of the NHS, government and the general public has made great strides in reducing the levels of Coronavirus infection within the UK and, due to this, we are now entering a phased and stepped plan to unlock and recover. 

Tustins has reviewed the plan and the detailed guidance provided by the UK Government. The reopening of the property market means that marketing of all types of woodlands can now restart.  To minimise risk, Tustins recommends the following approach: 

In England - as the government has stated that “People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance”, prospective buyers can now view woodlands whilst maintaining social distancing measures.  Access for physical viewings provides comfort to buyers and allows them to experience the magic of a particular woodland, this is especially important for amenity woods in terms of maximising value.   

In Scotland and Wales - Please note that travel for non-work purposes within or to Wales and Scotland has not been permitted yet under the devolved administrations. The main focus for marketing is expected to be commercial forests which are viewed and assessed by forestry professionals.  Travel for work that cannot be done remotely is permitted across the whole of the UK. 

Woodland Viewing -  If you wish to view a property marketed by Tustins please use the following guidelines: 

  1. Confirm that viewing is possible to ensure that access is provided and social distancing can be maintained. 

  1. DO NOT VISIT if you have a high temperature, cough or any other symptoms.  If you suspect you or someone in your household has the virus or has symptoms, please stay at home and follow the NHS advice.  

  1. If you are in a vulnerable group or shielding, please do not visit the woodland as whilst they are outdoor spaces that are generally sparsely populated, anywhere outside the home introduces risk. 

  1. Take hand sanitiser/disinfectant with you so that you can sanitise your hands as you may touch gates/stiles and other common points and hand washing may not be possible. 

  1. Minimise the number of people going to the viewing, only sharing transport with people from your own household.
